This little man

He Snores!
There is an incessant rumbling next to me. It kinda sounds like a kid blowing bubbles in his drink or slurping that last little bit of something up through his straw. But then the sound echoes off the walls, cuddling in right next to my armpit. That's when I have to face the reality that the gurgling is my romantically passed-the-heck-out husband. The most fascinating part of all of this is that I absolutely can't sleep at all when he's not here. Tonight's jut another one of those insomnia nights. Ill put fifty bucks on the table that if I wanted to go to sleep I could. However...
Every now and then I somewhat enjoy the stillness of the night and being conscious enough to hear the strange things happening all around the house and in the yard. Very weird things come on TV at this hour as well... But let's just not even go there.
I would go on but as it is I am typing one-handed. The other is stuck under a beard. I shall be very careful, lest it start drooling on me too.

T-Ball and Gray Days
Kane started t-ball last Saturday. It was cold, rainy, and gray. But our kid, who by all accounts hates being wet and has not shown any amount of sustained attention towards throwing or especially catching a ball.... LOVED t-ball. He loved it and he was good at it. After 3 years of pushing soccer (and I do mean pushing), it was like he was meant to be on a field with a glove. SHOCKER.Parker had a great time despite falling into wet dirt over and over and over... and over again.... and Colt fell asleep in the baby backpack for the most part. It's amazing how even a gray day becomes fun when your kids are being more than 60% enjoyable.
So here we are again on another gray day... one of those days that no one likes to do. Gray days make you late for things. They are such nasty dirty things. But then again, there's something about them that makes you want one every now and then anyway. Right now, for example, Josh and I are watching The Hobbit (still in bed), Colt is watching me type and kicking my arm. The boys are playing quietly in their room. The dogs are belly up on the couch and outside... all that and it's only 8:00am. We haven't even had breakfast yet!
Nice.
